What is Nativism?

Natvism is often expressed as a racist ideology targeting immigrants and those thought to be foreign to the dominant culture. Nativist groups consider foreigners a threat to the nation and what constitutes a real American. Nativists discriminate based on language, physical features and other cultural or religious traits and is a major part of today’s discourse on immigration.
