There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, anti-Muslim speakers head west for two events in the Rocky Mountains.

The Western Conservative Summit begins today, July 1, and goes through Sunday, July 3, in Denver, Colorado. The annual event bills itself as “the largest gathering of conservatives outside of Washington, DC.” Among the featured speakers at this year’s event: prominent anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney, of the Center for Security Policy.

Early last month, Gaffney was honored in Washington DC by the Endowment for Middle East Truth. He was also photographed recording his radio program at last month’s Hold Their Feet to the Fire, and annual event organized by leading anti-immigrant group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

And on Thursday, June 7, the Flathead County chapter of grassroots anti-Muslim group ACT for America will hold a meeting in Kalispell, Montana. The featured speaker at the meeting will be Kelly Cook, ACT for America’s national field director. The Montana ACT chapter has featured other notable anti-Muslim speakers in recent months including Austrian activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff in April and an anti-refugee program featuring Paul Nachman and Don Barnett in February.

Additional information on these events and others can be found in the map below. The events scheduled for next week are marked with red stars.
