There Goes the Neighborhood: February 3, 2017

Imagine2050 Staff • Feb 03, 2017

There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, a writer praised by anti-Muslim conspiracy theorists speaks in California.

On Thursday, February 9, the right wing David Horowitz Freedom Center will host an evening reception and talk with national security writer Bill Gertz in Los Angeles, California. Gertz is a longtime national security columnist at The Washington Times and an associate of anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney. Gertz is a regular guest on Gaffney’s radio program. Last month, Gaffney described Gertz’s new book, iWar: War and Peace in the Information Age, as “required reading.”

The Horowitz Freedom Center recently announced a new campaign targeting undocumented students on college campuses. The first event, scheduled to take place Wednesday at UC Berkeley, was cancelled following protests. No other campaign events have been announced.

Additional information on this event and others can be found in the map below. A red star indicates events scheduled for next week.
