On July 12, NumbersUSA director of government relations Rosemary Jenks once again appeared on Frank Gaffney’s Secure Freedom Radio program.
During the segment, Jenks and Gaffney discussed the supposedly deleterious effects the proposed immigration reform legislation will have on national security – despite the unprecedented amount of money the bill provides for border security measures. Jenks referred to the bill as a “nationally security impairing and politically suicidal approach” to immigration. The latter point echoes sentiment Gaffney recently made. Right Wing Watch reports that the conspiracy-obsessed Gaffney recently claimed immigration reform efforts are a “product of decades of work by communists determined to consign the GOP to permanent minority status.”
Ever since legislation passed 68-32 in the Senate, the anti-immigrant movement has increased its efforts to block any vote in the House. For his part, Gaffney has increasingly invited nativists including Jenks, Mark Krikorian, and Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) onto his program in recent weeks.
