Today Robert Spencer, author and director of the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Jihad Watch website, begins a speaking tour in Canada.
Between September 13-19, Spencer will speak at four separate events, including an event with colleague Pamela Geller; an appearance at the Islam Unveiled Conference; and participating in a debate – “Is the Quran a Manual for Peace or for War?” – at the University of Toronto.
If past events featuring Spencer and his colleagues are any indication, the tour of Canada will likely draw protests and condemnation from community groups. The trip also seems timely as lawmakers in Quebec are considering controversial legislation prohibiting public employees from wearing religious headwear and other religious symbols.
