Yesterday was International Holocaust Remembrance Day, commemorating the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, had his own sick way of commemorating the day—by accusing undocumented immigrants of the “ethnic cleansing of blacks” through gang violence.
“Don’t hold your breath for the SPLC, ADL, main stream media, Jesse Jackson, or Al Sharpton to say anything about the murders and ethnic cleansing of blacks by illegal immigrants as none of these ‘civil rights’ defenders will say anything that would hinder the deadly and costly illegal alien invasion of America or Obama’s amnesty plans which will take this violence nation wide if it passes,” Gheen said before reposting an article from the Los Angeles Times on crimes against African-Americans in the city.
The article itself, however, doesn’t say anything at all about the perpetrators of these crimes being immigrants, documented or otherwise. The article does note that the attacks occurred in Latino gang territory, and Gheen made the leap from there.
Gheen has a history of using racial animus, vitriol and pandering to advance his cause. In 2011, Gheen argued that President Obama waspreparing for war against “White America,” and utilizing immigration policy to do it. ALIPAC refers to the president as “Dictator Obama” as a matter of organizational policy. In 2007, Gheen told a Hazleton, Pennsylvania crowd that “According to some rough math I did 20 minutes ago, we’re getting four to ten active [tuberculosis] cases rushing across our southern border every night.”
In 2005, Gheen appeared on the white nationalist radio show The Political Cesspool. James Edwards, the show’s host, has said David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, was “beyond reproach” and referred to African-Americans as “heathen savages.” One of its organizational sponsors is the Institute for Historical Review, an organization committed to Holocaust denial. Representative Walter B. Jones (R-NC), found himself in hot water after going on Political Cesspool, including facing demands from the Onslow County Democratic Party to apologize for appearing on the program.
Gheen’s comments reveal his rampant bigotry. And are especially distasteful on such a significant day of remembrance.
