Michael Cutler of CAPS to Speak at Tea Party Event

Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) Senior Writing Fellow and former INS agent, Michael Cutler, is scheduled to be the featured speaker at the next SW Metro Tea Party meeting on November 4 in Minnesota, according to the group’s calendar.

The Minnesota based Tea Party chapter is led by State Rep. Cindy Pugh (R- Chanhassen). Pugh is known for her distasteful comments comparing Muslim women and children dressed in traditional Islamic garb to “garbage bags.” In June of this year, she was scheduled to attend an event featuring ACT! for America founder and radical Islamophobe Brigitte Gabriel.

Now Pugh and her Tea Party chapter have invited Cutler to speak, and if his past blogs and appearances are of any indication, his speech will focus on the disparagement of undocumented immigrants and advocate against comprehensive immigration reform.

Tea Party chapters nationwide continue to uphold ties with members of both the anti-immigrant and Islamophobia movements. In January, Cutler spoke at the 2013 South Carolina Tea Party Convention along with anti-Muslim conspiracy theorists Frank Gaffney and Tom Trento. By the Tea Party continuing to host these individuals, it further reinforces the partnership between the anti-immigrant and Islamophobia movements, bridging national grassroots organizations with organized bigotry.
