The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) an anti-immigrant law firm, filed an amicus brief earlier this week asking for the court to uphold the right of police officers in Maryland to ask for proof of citizenship after detaining an individual. The immigrant rights group Casa de Maryland is arguing against IRLI in the case.
