IRLI files amicus brief backing states’ lawsuit against immigration action

In a press release issued yesterday, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) said it filed an amicus curiae brief in support of the 25 states challenging President Obama’s executive action on immigration.

IRLI is the legal arm of the flagship anti-immigrant organization Federation for American Immigration Reform. IRLI Of Counsel Kris Kobach‘s name does not appear on the amicus brief. Rather, the brief is attributed to IRLI Senior Counsel Michael Hethmon and Executive Director Dale Wilcox.

In addition to IRLI, the American Center for Law and Justice also supports the states’ lawsuit. On December 16, ACLJ submitted an amicus brief supporting the states on behalf of itself and 27 members of Congress.

IRLI’s full 41-page amicus brief can be viewed here.
