There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, an anti-Muslim speaker in Montana.

On Tuesday, June 6, anti-Muslim activist Nonie Darwish will speak in Kalispell, Montana. Darwish is an associate of fervent anti-Muslim demagogue Pamela Geller. She is a contributor to Geller’s website and director of Former Muslims United, a project of Geller’s American Freedom Defense Initiative. Recently, Darwish has been promoting her new book, Wholly Different: Why I Chose Biblical Values Over Islamic Values and spoke twice before anti-Muslim groups in California this spring.

Darwish’s Montana appearance is organized by the Flathead County chapter of grassroots anti-Muslim group ACT for America. The chapter has hosted multiple figures within the organized anti-Muslim movement including Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, ACT’s Kelly Cook, Shahram Hadian, Philip Haney, and William Federer.
