UPDATE: Pamela Geller announced on her blog that American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) has succeeded in their efforts to bring controversial anti-Muslim/Islam ads to Denver. There are now a new round of Islamophobic ads circulating on Denver city buses.
As part of their end of the year fundraising campaign, Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, via their organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), announced their upcoming plans to run a new round of anti-Muslim advertisements in Denver, CO.
In a recent email to their supporters, AFDI stated: “[sic] Going forward. we are preparing a counter campign in Denver to combat a new vicious, antisemitic blood libel running on Denver buses.” The campaign Geller and Spencer are referring to is a controversial ad that appeared on Denver buses and light rails in late October that accuses Israel of the “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians.
Per usual, Geller and Spencer are exploiting the complicated struggle between Israel and Palestine as a means further their own hateful rhetoric and publicly disparage Muslims and the religion of Islam. And as past AFDI campaigns have already shown, they will capitalize on anything in order to spread their intolerant message.
