Anti-Muslim bloggers Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer were quick to comment after suspected Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday to a 30-count indictment. Geller and Spencer amped up the anti-Muslim rhetoric after hearing Tsarnaev’s plea.
Geller posted a picture of the aftermath of the Boston bombings followed by “Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pleads not guilty. According to Islamic texts and teachings, he’s not. Jihad is the way.”
On Spencer’s blog he provided a quote retrieved from the NBC coverage of a family member of a victim who present in the courtroom. According to NBC news, after hearing Tsarnaev’s plea, one of the family members said, “I didn’t see a lot of remorse. I didn’t see a lot of regret,” which Spencer responded by saying “Of course not. He thinks he has pleased his bloodthirsty god. Why should he feel remorseful about that?”
