Malediction- A curse
Nascent- Starting to develop; coming into existence
Nadir- Lowest point
Neologism- new word or expression
Malinger- To evade responsibility by pretending to be ill
Lugubrious- sorrowful; mournful; dismal
Liberal- Tolerant or broad minded; generous or lavish
Jingoism- Belligerent support of ones country
Catholic- Universal, broad and comprehensive
