If you’ve ever read an issue of Searchlight magazine, you will know all about the British Nationalist Party and their disgusting campaign against non-Britons. If you haven’t heard of the British Nationalist Party I can sum them up for you with this quote in 2005 by senior official Nick Eriksen:
“I’ve never understood why so many men have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the feminazi myth machine into believing that rape is such a serious crime… Rape is simply sex. Women enjoy sex, so rape cannot be such a terrible physical ordeal…To suggest that rape, when conducted without violence, is a serious crime is like suggesting force-feeding a woman chocolate cake is a heinous offence… A woman would be more inconvenienced by having her handbag snatched.”
Instead of writing about how horrible the above quote is and that the BNP needs to be stopped, I thought it would be better to write about the opposite of the BNP, a man named Phil Woolas who has dedicated his political career to fight against racism. Earlier this month he was appointed Britons new Immigration Minister. His new approach is to toughen the UK’s immigration policies to but also to change the negative perceptions on immigrants.
His recent interview with the Times newspaper in England caused a lot of people to sit up and consider the problems/issues with immigration in England but some have attacked his comments believing that he is stating the same political jargon as his predecessor but worded in a different way. I think that Mr. Woolas is exactly the type of person England needs to tackle the major issues that immigration poses. He believes that employers should put British people first regardless of race and he also wants to reduce the number of immigrants coming to England. Woolas also believes it is time for the Church of England to accept other faiths and for Britons to be welcoming to all immigrants. A lot of people describe his policies as “common sense” but someone has to come out and say it.
Negative perceptions of immigrants in Britain have increased dramatically in recent years in part because of the blatant anti-immigrant propaganda voiced by the British Nationalist Party. Mr. Woolas wants to get the facts out to the people of Britain and stop the negative perceptions from getting out of hand. Wooals uses the example that people perceive that immigrant families get quicker access to council houses than Britons who have been on a list for longer. This he believes is completely false but is constantly talked about because of a few rare cases of immigrants given million pound houses. Just because a few immigrants have been given expensive houses doesn’t mean that every immigrant family is jumping the line ahead of British families however these cases though rare, must be stopped. When immigrants do join the workforce however Woolas believes that they need to be treated with much more respect and equality. Woolas wants the bad treatment of immigrants by the British population to stop.
It’s nice to hear about a politician fighting for immigrants rights instead of immigrant bashing. The British Nationalist Party need to be further exposed for what they are, a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female club that is trying to ignite a race riots. Instead of abusing his new position of power as Immigration Minister it would be nice to see him using the power for the good of everyone that resides in Britain regardless of race or ethnicity.
