Anti-Immigrant CA Candidate for Governor Speaks to Tanton-Founded White Nationalist Group

California assemblyman and governor hopeful, Tim Donnelly, recently spoke at a meeting of The Social Contract Press, a white nationalist publisher founded by John Tanton.

During the meeting, Donnelly told audience members they need to take back the United States because, as a result of “unchecked illegal immigration,” it is becoming “some kind of socialist banana republic where freedom is just something that people had a long time ago.”

Later in his speech, Donnelly said if elected governor he would aim to end the California DREAM Act and instead use that money to fund what he called the “American Dream Act,” which he explained will give incentive to “taxpayers and citizens and people who love this country” to move to California instead of undocumented citizens.

Donnelly has a history of associating with the anti-immigrant movement and upholding the nativist agenda. He is a member of the John Tanton Network affiliate, State Legislators for Legal Immigration (SLLI), a coalition of nativist lawmakers dedicated to passing anti-immigrant legislation at the state level. In 2012, Donnelly was cited and released after carrying a loaded handgun into an airport, claiming he needed it to defend himself against DREAMers because of his opposition to the legislation.
