Under consideration for a post within Trump’s administration, and a regular guest at anti-Muslim and right-wing events
According to reports, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke met with the president-elect about a potential job within his administration. Clarke is known for his far-right and incendiary remarks, which have made him a regular guest at anti-Muslim and right-wing events.
- In 2015 Clarke attended an event organized by notorious anti-Muslim foundation and think thank, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, where he was the recipient of the Center’s “Annie Taylor Award.”
- He sat on a panel with Clare Lopez of the anti-Muslim think tank Center for Security Policy during the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference.
- Clarke has said he believes there are plans for the Black Lives Matter movement and ISIS to team up. In 2015, he tweeted, “Before long, Black Lies Matter will join forces with ISIS to being down our legal constituted republic. You heard it first here.”
