Speaking on Tuesday, June 26th, on the Todd Feinburg show (AM680 WRKO-Boston), Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, an anti-immigrant group with myriad significant ties to white nationalism, boasted and grandstanded his way through a series of questions begging his and his group’s response to the SB 1070 rulings passed down by the Supreme Court this past Monday. Bemoaning a lack of state’s rights and what he apparently regards as interference from the federal government and groups who oppose FAIR and the John Tanton Network, Stein declared the following “fact”:
“The Ford Foundation and other foundations underwrote a litigation effort, along with the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF) and the ACLU, to stop states from participating in verification or status checks. And I think it had something to do with voting rights and other document issues they didn’t want to see inestablished [sic] because they seem to want, you know, illegal voting or, you know, they seem to want to promote relaxed standards at the voting booth.”
