Cultivating Justice, Transparency & Partnership – Coalition of Immokalee Workers Chicago Action!

Jill Garvey • Sep 12, 2012

Highlighting Chipotle’s refusal to commit to farmworker rights, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and allies are organizing a series of creative actions to take place during Chipotle Mexican Grill’s “Cultivate Festival” in Lincoln Park — a celebration of Chipotle’s self-proclaimed holistic commitment to “food with integrity.” Actions will take place in and around the festival to unveil the truth behind Chipotle’s marketing. Combining prayer, theater, music, and a few surprises, these creative actions will highlight the hypocrisy of Chipotle’s refusal to partner with the CIW and commit to the Fair Food Program.

WHEN: Saturday, September 15, 2012 – 11:00am until 7:00pm

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

11:00am – 5:00pm | CREATIVE ACTIONS THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL
Actions will be suitable for both individuals and groups. If you’re planning to come as part of a group (or can wrangle a few friends to come with you), consider signing up for a two-hour shift and help pass out balloons, flyers, and other materials!

5:00pm – Culminating rally in Lincoln Park, featuring speakers and live music.
