CA-Based Anti-Immigrant Activists Hold Presser, Claim ‘Illegal Aliens’ are “Murderers” and “Thieves”

As part of Remember 1986’s “S. 744 National Press Day,” anti-immigrant activists in Los Angeles held a press conference in front of Sen. Diane Feinstein’s (D-CA) office. Those present at the event included talk show host Jamiel Shaw; California-based anti-immigrant activist Raymond Herrera; and Lupe Moreno, president of Latino Americans for Immigration Reform and ProEnglish advisory board member. In a move right out of anti-immigrant stalwart and ProEnglish-affiliate Tom Tancredo’s book, “Lupe Moreno told the small crowd that ‘illegal aliens’ are murderers, thieves and liars,” The Los Angeles Times reports. “’They’ve completely taken over our areas and our neighborhoods, which have become Third World countries,’ said Moreno.” Tancredo, who recently announced intentions to run for Colorado governor, once claimed that immigrants have caused Miami, FL to “become a Third World country.”
