In the wake of tragedy, Breitbart News contributor Pat Dollard called for the widespread “slaughtering” of Muslims. Dollard made the claim on Twitter following early reports of a shooting at the Fort Hood military outpost in Killeen, Texas.
“If there is even one more act of Muslim terrorism,” Dollard wrote, “it is then time for Americans to start slaughtering Muslims in the streets, all of them.”
Later, Dollard tweeted: “Yeah, Obama’s “heartbroken” over Ft. Hood because it wasn’t Muslim terrorism.”
Dollard, who has 35,000 Twitter followers, regularly shares war zone videos on his personal website, describing the footage as “jihadi bitch slaying” in the headlines.
Along with publishing Dollard, Breitbart News also often publishes columns authored by anti-Muslim activists and further provides a platform for bigoted voices with events like “The Uninvited” panel.
Note: When approached by Mother Jones, a Breitbart News representative distanced the organization from Dollard. Spokesman Kurt Bardella told the publication, Dollard “was not a paid contributor and has not contributed for three years. He should not call himself a contributor.” As for future articles, he said “We have no plans to accept anything. We haven’t ruled anything out. But he is not a Breitbart contributor.”
