ACT! for America president Brigitte Gabriel to speak at Nashville church

Imagine 2050 Staff • May 28, 2014

Anti-Muslim demagogue Brigitte Gabriel, founder and president of ACT! for America, is scheduled to speak in Nashville on June 23 at the Woodmont Bible Church.

If past events serve as an indication, Gabriel’s speech will consist of her spouting outlandish rhetoric about how
Islam’s goal is to destroy American culture from within. In a previous appearance in Nashville, Gabriel warned that Muslims are trying to “brainwash the children in our country,” and referred to American universities as “occupied
territories.”

The event is being co-sponsored by ACT!’s Middle Tennessee chapter and the Tennessee Freedom Coalition, two groups responsible for regularly organizing Islamophobic events statewide. Last year, the two organizations collaborated to host anti-Muslim conspiracy theorist John Guandolo along with organize a screening of the film “Jihad in America — The Grand Deception,” a product of Steve Emerson’s Investigative Project on Terrorism.

ACT!’s Middle Tennessee chapter is headed by Daniel Bregman. His wife, Joanne, is an attorney and one of the group’s chief lobbyists at the state capitol. She was instrumental in lobbying for the state’s anti-Shariah legislation, Tennessee Laws for Tennessee Courts.
