For two years the writers at Imagine 2050 have visited and revisited issues related to migration, race, and the environment. The newest issue of the magazine compiles our favorite “green” articles from the past year. The magazine includes in-depth commentary on topics such as the controversial activities of anti-immigrant groups from within the environmental movement, and the interconnectedness of climate change and structural racism.

The focus of Imagine 2050 continues to be America’s changing demographics, and discussions on how to shape a truly democratic and multiracial America. By the year 2050, one out of five Americans will be foreign born. Latino and Asian communities will increase significantly. There will be no clear racial or ethnic majority.

We will become a nation of minorities. Today’s perceptions of foreignness will challenge how Americans identify themselves over the coming decades. In light of these challenges, Imagine 2050 believes igniting candid conversations around race, immigration, and environment will become increasingly necessary to American democracy.
